Outdoors with Ted in Scotland (O.W.T in Scotland) is mountain skills concern, in particular low level walking and hill walking, owned by Ted Tombling, and offers all training in the skills associated with these activities (eg navigation, Winter skills, mountain first aid, wild camping skills, etc).

O.W.T in Scotland aims to provide Day Walks at the weekends and on Wednesdays - either low level, or climbing Corbets and Munros. Other courses and mini-breaks will be planned throughout the year. What's on Offer?

General Information

Photo of Ted on the High Route 21 in Corsica. DAY WALKS: to book on to a walk, you can either complete a booking form and fax it, or e-mail it (ted@owt-in-scotland.co.uk) to Ted. A telephone call is sufficient (01786 479766 is the answer machine). The timings, route directions and meeting place will be published on the Notice Board in advance (usually 3 or more venues at a time). Please read the terms and conditions before contemplating a booking.

MINI-BREAKS: To boon on to a mini-break, a Booking Form should be completed, but please read the terms and conditions first (all info is on Booking Page). A mini-break will usually be over a weekend joining on a Friday evening and departing either the Sunday evening, or in the case of a Bank Holiday weekend, then we may depart on the Monday evening. Accomodation for these breaks will usually be in a chalet or B&B type accommodation, or on rare occasions, Youth Hostels. The meals provided start with breakfast the day after joining, and evening meal for each full day. Lunches will be individuals responsibility although some items will be available to supplement sandwich making. The aim of these breaks is to give good value for money in good accommodation and a social break from the hum-drum of working life. Separate instructions will be sent to individuals about two weeks prior to the weekend.

Ted Tombling in the Sohro Desert Mountains, Morocco COURSES: To book on to a course, a booking form should be completed, but please read the terms and conditions first. Separate instructions will be sent out to individuals approx 3 weeks prior to the first day of the course. Courses will usually be at weekends. Accommodation and food arrangements will vary depending on facilities around the venue.

BESPOKE BOOKINGS: Groups, or individuals, are invited to enquire about private guiding/skills training, tailor made events/courses (eg Winter skills courses for a club or individuals).
